The Chinese government have loosened requirements of organizing sports events in China by changing laws.
On November 7, 2016, President Xi Jinping signed the No. 57 Presidential Decree of the People's Republic of China and promulgated the Decision that the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will amend twelve laws, such as the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China. The decision was adopted by the Twenty-fourth Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress on November 7, 2016, and will come into force on the date of promulgation.
According to the decision, Article 32 of the Sports Law of the People’s Republic of China would be deleted -- “the State shall adopt the approval system of sports competitions’ national records. And national records of sports events shall be confirmed by the sports administrative department under the State Council.”
In the future, the national records of sports competitions will no longer be taken to the administrative examination, but will be administrated under industry regulations stipulated by local sports associations. The General Administration of Sport will henceforth carry out business guidance and industry supervision rather than direct examination and approval.
