It's the first time for China to host the championship.

According to the organization committee, the 41st championship will kick off on March 28, 2015, with four categories, namely 6 kilometers for young women, 8 kilometers for adult women, 8 kilometers for young men and 12 kilometers for adult men.

The Championships was first held in 1973, and was held twice a year after 2011. In 2012, Guiyang city made its bidding application.
