Chinese smartphone brand Vivo has joined forces with Ayala Malls and Capdase, becoming the title sponsor of one of Ayala Malls’ projects for 2018, the Hoop Battle Championship Philippines.
Founded in 2015 in Guangdong Province, the event is an annual 3x3 basketball tournament held in China and other Asian countries.
The event’s founder, Nenking Group, is a company headquartered in the Pearl River Delta Region, focusing on real estate, biopharmacy, finance, entertainment, healthcare and sports. Nenking hopes that it can promote mutual exchanges between China and Philippines through the overseas expansion of the basketball event.
While the China games will start in summer this year, the Philippines tournament will kick off on May 8 in Ayala Malls Vertis North.
According to Gabby Katigbak, AMSI Entertainment General Manager, the event will be held in several Ayala Malls in the coming months and the winners will have the opportunity to compete in the grand finals in China.
Speaking of the sponsorship deal, Annie Lim, Vivo Philippines Brand Director, commented, “Vivo believes that this sponsorship will open more opportunities for other projects with Ayala Malls in the future.”
