Shijiazhuang picking up pace in sports industry

The municipal government of Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei Province, has published a plan for accelerating the development of its tourism, cultural and sports areas. 

In terms of sports, two development plans for the winter sports industry and the outdoor sports industry will be launched. The city will see three new industrial segments for winter sports service, outdoor sports & recreation and sports tourism. 

The government will also encourage investment of private capital in the sports industry, of which the priorities will be on sports events, venues, coaching and fitness. What's worth mentioning is that the grassroots events will see more assistance from the government. 

As for the venues, some of the venues and facilities on campus are also expected to be opened to the public. The government will support owners of sports venues and stadiums to come up with more creative operational approaches, which will allow these venues and stadiums to be operated more effectively. 

Meanwhile, industrial parks focusing on sports equipment (like floor for the court and boxing gloves) manufacturing will be established in the city. Other emerging aspects like sports media, tourism and technologies will also embrace new opportunities, according to the new plan.
