Shandong Province has announced its plans to grow the provincial sports industry by 2025 with their main target being to reach the RMB600 billion target. However the Chinese media have pointed out that the total value of the sports industry in different provinces already adds up to RMB 6.6 trillion, although the national goal for the sports industry by 2025 is only RMB 5 trillion.
After the announcement of the central government’s plan to boost the sports industry to RMB5 billion by 2025, all the provinces in China are expected to provide their own economic growth plans in the industry in the time leading up to 2025, to help realize this national goal.
According to public reports, there are now 26 provinces/cities that have published their own plans, including Beijing, Fujian, and Jiangsu. The plan for Beijing is RMB 3 trillion, Fujian RMB 1 trillion, Jiangsu RMB 800 billion.
There are five more provinces that still have not published their own plans, but they are expected to do so by the end of August.
