Jonathan Barnett, chairman and founder of the Stellar Group Limited, is set to visit China and has “big plans”, according to a trustworthy source involved in the recent sales deal of the UK-based soccer agency.
The source claims that Mr. Barnett has met 6 investment groups since last Friday. Although more details are yet to be disclosed, the sales deal is said to be close to being finalised.
As revealed in a former report by Reuters, the Stellar Group is expected to cost around 900 million yuan ($138 million), and four Chinese buyers, including the model car maker Rastar Group, have reached the bidding process.
Regarding the “big plans” in China, the source tells Yutang Sports that Mr. Barnett is planning to “sell [the] best players in the world”. Also, he is “looking to work with leading sports/football company [companies] in China”.
