SPORTACCORD confirms Istanbul as Host City for 2025 Convention
13 Mar 2025 23:29

Ali Sports, a subsidiary of China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba, announced yesterday that it has struck a strategic partnership deal with Wige Media, a Cologne-based TV production company.
This move will make Wige the first German partner of Ali Sports, which is going to significantly accelerate Ali’s digital and international strategy.
Initially this co-operation will include the organization, production and marketing of sporting events, covering the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and other auto events. In the long run, the partnership will focus on smart venues, sports commentary and broadcasting.
The services provided by Wige Media include Timekeeping, TV production and postproduction with both ENG and OB-facilities, a sports video archive as well as event services and marketing of TV broadcasting rights. This is the first time for Wige to deploy its expertise in fully-automated live coverage of sporting events at an international level.
