International University Sports Federation (FISU) signed a 3-year partnership deal with the Chinese Taishan Sports Industry Group on November 6th, one day prior to the 34th General Assembly of FISU.
According to the contract, the two parties would cooperate in Sports & Innovation, Sports & Knowledge, and Sports Equipment & Brand Promotion, granting sponsorship in 2016 and 2018 World University Championships, 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade and university sports testing platforms.
Founded in June 1978, Taishan Sports was once a largest equipment supplier for Beijing Olympic Games and sponsor of local and international events. Referring to its official website, Taishan Sports was appointed by Rio 2016 Organizing Committee early this year in September as a Sole Supplier of Mats for Judo, Wrestling and Taekwondo for use at Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
