IOC’s global partner and financial services corporation Visa has signed up two leading Chinese athletes including badminton player Chenlong and sprinter Zhang Peimeng in Beijing on Monday, according to Chinese newspaper China Daily.
As part of the Team Visa Program, the Chinese duo, who are currently preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, will serve as brand ambassadors of Visa.
No terms of the deal were disclosed on Monday.
“We’re delighted to see the growth of ‘Team Visa’ and honored to accompany members of ‘Team Visa’ to continue the journey in Olympic Games and to make achievements in the Games”, said Visa China directing manager Shirley Yu.
"On behalf of Visa and all the staff, we congratulate Chen and Zhang on their personal achievements in respective fields and the examples they have set for fans both on and off the arena," Yu added.
Visa has been dedicated to make positive contributions to the development of global sports since becoming a global partner of Olympic Games in 1986.
