Beijing-based nutrition brand CPT became the officially designated sports food supplier of the upcoming event IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015 from 22 to 30 August, and is going to provide advises to players on diet prior to matches as well as nutrition supplements after competitions.
CPT is a Chinese local nutrition brand, and was founded in 2001. The company first started to sponsor sports in 2004, when they supported the General Administration of Sports of China around the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and sponsored a national sports event for health clubs.
The company has been an active player in the sports sponsorship field since then. Events and players that they sponsored included Beijing Marathon, Chinese skiing athletes Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, Beijing Triathlon World Championships and many others.
The company’s head of brand strategy indicated that the brand would have more moves in the next few years as Beijing would start to host a number of events in the following few years up to 2022.
They also plan to shift the focus to public and outdoor sports, as more and more Chinese people start to be involved in sports and exercises.
