New Sponsor for River Plate

On October 19th, Club Atletico River Plate (River Plate) held a press conference, announcing that they are to be sponsored by the Chinese company Huawei.

Radolfo Donofrio, President of River Plate, said, “It is our great honour to cooperate with Huawei. Huawei is one of the world’s top communications technology companies. Besides, its values are consistent with River Plate’s athletic spirit.”

“We appreciate the passion and professional dedication of River Plate. Moreover, we hope that Argentine consumers become more familiar with Huawei’s products and accept Huawei through our sponsorship of the club." said Zhang Zhe, the Huawei representative. 

River Plate is one of the most famous football clubs, not only in South America, but throughout the world. Huawei’s logo will be printed on the shirts of the club’s players, on billboards in the Monument Stadium (the home ground of River Plate in Buenos Aires) and other club clothing and merchandise.

In July this year Huawei signed a cooperation agreement with Boca Juniors Football Club to become its sponsor. River Plate and Boca Juniors are two of the great teams in Argentina. River Plate are popular among the middle class, while Boca Juniors are the heroes of the working class.
