Following last year’s successful US pre-season tour, German champions FC Bayern Munich will once again set out on tour in July 2015. Head Coach Pep Guardiola’s team will travel to China from 16 to 24 July with three high profile friendly games against FC Valencia, Inter Milan and Guangzhou Evergrande lined up. FC Bayern Munich’s summer tour 2015 will again be presented by partner Audi.
First up on 18 July, FC Bayern will face six-time La Liga champions FC Valencia at the "Bird’s Nest" the national stadium in Beijing. Three days later the team from Munich will play against the 18-time Serie A champions Inter Milan in Shanghai. The last leg of the Audi Summer Tour 2015 will be the match against current CSL champions Guangzhou Evergrande FC on 23 July in Tianhe Sports Stadium. Evergrande, coached by newly appointed Brazilian stalwart Luiz Felipe Scolari have won the CSL for the last four years in a row and were the Asian Champions League winners in 2013.
Evergrande have been inspired by the successful business model and enormous on field achievements of FC Bayern. The two clubs have maintained close ties since Bayern’s first trip to China in 2012. In 2013, Liu Yongzhuo, the then CEO of Evergrande FC at the time, visited Munich and held talks with Bayern’s Board about the possibility of a future partnership. Bayern also expressed their mutual interest in finding a Chinese football club to become their business partner. Recognizing each other’s potential synergies, Evergrande was a good choice for Bayern. It is believed that the two clubs will further strengthen their partnership in the future.
