Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced a new regulation requesting fees from brands who want players to wear their shoes instead of shoes of the main sponsor of the national football teams.
The announcement was released on May 19 on the website of Chinese Football Association, by China Football Industry Development Corp., the commercial operation agency of Chinese Football Association.
According to the new announcement, from June 1, 2015, all brands that want to have national team players that they sponsored to wear their shoes in football matches, should pay CFA an amount of fees while the sponsorship price for players should also be regarded as appropriate by CFA.
This regulation applies to four teams: Chinese Men’s National Football Team, Chinese Women’s National Football Team, Chinese Men’s U23/U22 National Football Team, and Chinese Men’s U20/U19 National Football Team.For brands that want multiple players in multiple teams to wear their shoes, the requested amount of fees is 10 million RMB every year.
For single players, brands should pay 2 million yuan for each player every year.
The current official kit sponsor of Team China is Nike.
