Toshiba renewed its sponsorship to Hangzhou Greentown FC for another year. The signing ceremony was held in Oakwood Residence in Hangzhou on the afternoon of 22 April.
Chief Representative of Toshiba China, CEO of Toshiba Air-conditioning, General Manager of Hangzhou Greentown FC, the chief coach of the team, and some player representatives attended the ceremony.
The Chief Representative of Toshiba China was very confident about cooperation for the new season. He hoped that the club would perform well in the league and the Chinese Football Association Cup (CFA Cup), and to try for higher level competitions such as AFC Champions League, and he expected that the club would one day show the world its name, along with the shirts where Toshiba’s logo were branded.
Toshiba Air-conditioning formed a partnership with Greentown back in 2011. Toshiba China started a sponsorship with the club in 2013, and became the main sponsor of the team in 2014.
Toshiba has made many investments in the football field. It was the partner of 2002 and 2006 World Cup, and the official sponsor of 2005 AFC Champions League. It was the exclusive sponsor of CFA Cup from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, the company is also involved in an invitational match for youths in Hangzhou.
