Before the opening of China Table Tennis Super League, it eventually found a title sponsor, namely Tianjin Quanjian Group that newly acquired the naming right of Tianjin Teda Football Club.
It is reported that the cooperation between Tianjin Quanjian Group and China Table Tennis & Badminton Center has been in the last stages of talks on the deal. While Quanjian Group is not responsible for the general agency fees, it only chooses to sponsor the naming right and the advertisement behind the clothing of athletes.
Even though Quanjian Group’s sponsorship is effective, it is still far from enough for the 35 million yuan costs of holding the League. China Table Tennis & Badminton Center has been trying to find more sponsors but it hardly works. Although China Table Tennis Super League avoided “zero sponsor” phenomenon in last year, the sponsorship fee obviously cannot make ends meet, comparing to 150 million title sponsor of CSL.
According to the insiders, next season, the title sponsor fees of CSL might triple or quintuple current ones.
In February this year, Tianjin Quanjian Group made a title sponsor deal with Tianjin Teda with 100 million yuan for one year. On the official website of Chinese Football Association, “Tianjin Teda F. C.” was officially renamed as “Tianjin Teda Quanjian F. C.”.
