Interview with Andreas Zagklis: to keep popularization of basketball with all-round strategy

On April 1, at the season opener of the 2018 Sina 3X3 Golden League (SGL) held in Guangzhou, Chinese sportswear brand PEAK was named the Premier Strategic Partner of the basketball tournament for the second consecutive year.
According to an official statement, PEAK will invest up to CNY10m (USD1.59m) annually to support the self-made basketball IP owned by Sina. The Chinese brand also announced its latest product of professional basketball boots at the ceremony.
Under their deal, Sina is expected to make an effort to help PEAK bring in more commercial exposure, raise brand awareness, as well as boost product sales. During the tournaments, PEAK will offer customized gifts for fans that interact with the brand through different channels.
In March, the fourth edition of the SGL also embraced their first automobile sponsor, Haima Automobile Group.
Launched in 2015, the Sina 3x3 Basketball Golden League has become one of the most popular sporting events in China, as the 2017 tournament attracted 24,576 athletes competing in 6,144 participating teams.
As Lin Xiaoxiong, Director of PEAK Brand Department, said, they continued to support the event because SGL has provided a platform for both grassroots fans and professional basketball players. In addition to this, the tournament is also a perfect fit for the brand regarding target customers and worldwide popularity.
