SPORTACCORD confirms Istanbul as Host City for 2025 Convention

Japanese sporting equipment manufacturer, Yonex Co., Ltd., has announced a deal with Wang Yihan, a Chinese retired professional badminton player and former women's singles world champion and Olympic silver medalist.
This deal will see YONEX and Wang make efforts to promote the development of badminton. In addition to this, Wang also has plans to introduce her experience in youth training and sports culture businesses.
At the official news conference held on Thursday, Wang said she had gained a lot from her participation in YONEX-sponsored tournaments earlier this year. She hopes that more women will be engaged in the sport, and will personally make the promotion of badminton events and YONEX products as an important part of this deal.
Wang started her career when she was nine years old, and began to make excellent achievements in major tournaments in 2006. By October 2009, she was ranked number one Women's singles player in the world. Wang announced her retirement from professional badminton after she lost to India's P. V. Sindhu in the quarterfinal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
