XiamenAir, the title sponsor of the 2016 Australian Badminton Open, has agreed a deal with Australian badminton player Gronya Somerville, which will see the 21 years old become the Chinese airline’s brand ambassador.
Despite the terms of the agreement not being announced, the Australian badminton starlet will work together with XiamenAir to promote their China-Australia flights. The deal was signed during the 2016 Australian Badminton Open.
Somerville said, at the press conference, that it is a pleasure to become the ambassador of XiamenAir, which is a wonderful civil aviation enterprise. She believes they will achieve a great partnership in the near future.
Xia Junfeng, Managing Director(MD) at Brand Management of XiamenAir, said “Australia is one of the most important overseas markets for XiamenAir, (so) there is a great match between XiamenAir’s marketing strategy and the naming of the Australian badminton player (Gronya Somerville) as the brand ambassador.”
Gronya Somerville, born in Melbourne, is a rising badminton starlet and has a close connection with China because of her Chinese-Australian father who was born in Guangzhou.
