November 23: Chinese actor Leo Wu Lei has been named basketball ambassador of the NBA Weibo account in China for the new season, according to a Weibo post by the Association.
The seventeen-year-old, also known as the "Nation's Little Brother" in China is a basketball enthusiast. In October, Wu and other Chinese celebrities were invited to attend the NBA China Games and play as teammates of Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry on the court.
With millions of female fans in different age groups, Wu will help the NBA reach a more active audience in China.
In March, the NBA China and Chinese social media giant Sina Weibo announced a new multi-year partnership to bring game highlights and original programming for Chinese fans.
