It is reported that two of the participating teams in the 2017 NBA China Games have been confirmed as the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Games are to be held in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
The Golden State Warriors are currently the most popular NBA team. They won the 2015 NBA Champions and created a record with 73 wins in the regular season. On the other hand the Minnesota Timberwolves are the rising stars. The team has players like Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVin and Karl-Anthony Towns and the famous coach, Tom Thibodeau.
The Golden State Warriors have been to China several times for games while for Minnesota, this is their first time coming to China. Last year the Timberwolves’ boss Glen Taylor sold part of his equity. Jiang Lizhang purchased 5% equity in the Timberwolves, to become the first Chinese boss in NBA history.
In a telephone interview this morning in Beijing with Karl-Anthony Towns from Timberwolves, Karl told Yutang Sports that he looks forward to coming to China again and will be very interested to cooperate with his sponsor Nike to help and teach young Chinese basketball talents.
The NBA China Games has been held 10 times in China for 12 years. This year is the 11th NBA China Games. The games were held in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen before.
