October 25: Chinese home appliance giant Haier Group has reached a three-year strategic partnership with the organizing committee of the 2017 Qingdao Marathon, an international road running race expected to attract 20,000 participants.
Haier Brothers, the Chinese brand’s marketing icon, has been unveiled as the “Running Ambassadors” of the 2017 Qingdao race.
At the same time, the two parties also set up the Haier Challenge Award for the first Chinese men and women athletes (4 in total) who complete the 2017 marathon and half-marathon races.
As one Haier executive said, “Over the next three years, Haier will work closely with the Qingdao Marathon race, providing a more professional, well-serviced sports platform. We really hope that we can bring positive changes for more runners and encourage a healthy lifestyle for Chinese people.”
The 2017 race, the first annual Qingdao Marathon, has attracted running enthusiasts from more than 40 countries and regions as of now. It is set to kick off on November 5 at the May Fourth Square in Qingdao City.
