September 7: Alisports, the official sports branch of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, has announced that it will expand its business in sports training through the establishment of a fitness academy brand, as part of its partnership with Chinese fitness brand Tera Wellness.
The signing ceremony, held on the sidelines of FIBO China 2017, was attended by Alisports COO Yu Xingyu and Jin Yujing, President of Tera Wellness.
According to statistics, though there are 434 million Chinese people participating in sports and exercise, 250 trainees can have one coach on average. Even worse, only 4% of sports training content has matured into formal teaching materials and system. That’s why Alisports has decided to fill the gaps.
Under the terms of their deal, Alisports-Tera Wellness Fitness Academy is designed to offer courses for physical trainers, sports special trainers, fitness managerial staff, sports professionals and athletic rehabilitation therapists. The courses cover various fields in sports including cloud services, sports business cooperation and sports industry management.
Tera Wellness is a fitness brand with locations in 16 Chinese cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Wuxi, Ningbo, Dalian and Shenyang.
