Chinese telecom giant Huawei has become the official supporter of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG).
The company will provide mobile communication devices for the games, an essential component to the event’s operational delivery.
“We are grateful for their (Huawei) support, they share our core values of Health, Inspiration, Friendship and are committed to inspiring future generations through sport, making them a great addition to the Ashgabat 2017 family,” said Dayanch Gulgeldiyev, Chairman of the 5th AIMAG Executive Committee.
The statement of the 5th AIMAG noted that Huawei has entered the Turkmenistan market for more than 15 years and has been official sponsors of several sports organisations in the country, including the World Goresh Federation and National Belt Wrestling Federation of Turkmenistan.
After the merger of the Asian Indoor Games and the Asian Martial Arts Games in 2013, the quadrennial AIMAG has become the second largest Asian multi-sport event after the Asian Games. The 5th AIMAG will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from September 17th to the 27th.
As a leading telecommunication giant and phone maker, Huawei is ranked 88th in Forbes’ annual top 100 most valuable brands in the world with an estimated brand value of US $7.5 billion.
