The final 16 teams to compete in the Chinese Football Association Amateur League’s (CAL) knockout stages have been confirmed, with Tibet-based Lhasa LCCI Football Club reaching the next round. To secure a home stadium for the upcoming matches, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) have temporarily made the Lhasa Cultural and Sports Center available to the LCCI Football Club, allowing this stadium to become the highest home stadium for a football club in China, at an altitude of 3,600 meters.
Located in the Liuwu New District in Lhasa, construction on the sports center started in 2012 and was opened to the public in 2014. This 20,052-seater stadium reportedly covers 258,000 square meters.
Due to the high altitude of this stadium, the thin air and oxygen will be a problem for football players playing here in the upcoming knockout matches. In order to secure the safety of these players, the CFA have visited this center and set out some safety requirements:
1. Oxygen equipment should be equipped in the coaches used for transporting players
2. Hotels for the players should have a sufficient oxygen supply
3. There should be oxygen equipment in the stadium, 5 meters away from the pitch
4. There should be an oxygen timeout every 15 minutes during the matches
