The rooftop football pitch
A 71,300-square-meter sports center, the New Jing’An Sports Center, has been completed in Jing’An District, Shanghai, with the first ever rooftop football field in Shanghai.
Media reports have said that the sports center will be soon officially opened to the public this month and serve as a sports and recreational complex for the public, offering a wide range of sports facilities and coaching courses for swimming, basketball, badminton, tennis, volleyball, table-tennis and others.
The New Jing’An Sports Center includes a 5,600-seat multi-purpose gymnasium, two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, four tennis courts, twenty badminton courts and two swimming pools. A center for monitoring students’ health condition has also been featured in this sports center. As for the rooftop football pitch, it is reportedly a pitch meeting international standards with around 3,000 seats.
Meanwhile, environmentally-friendly recycle systems have been installed in the New Jing’an Sports Center, including a rainwater collection system and a solar heating system.
