Mercedes-Benz, the German auto manufacturer, renewed its naming rights for the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai to the year 2025, so extending by a further 5 years their original 10 year agreement signed in 2011.
The Mercedes-Benz Arena is managed and jointly operated by AEG and Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group Company Limited (OPG).
There were 273 live shows run in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in 2016, with over 900,000 fans present, according to the press release.
International superstars who have performed here include Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift. Among the top Chinese artists to appear were Jacky Cheung, Eason Chan, Jay Chou and Faye Wong.
The Mercedes-Benz Arena is a multi-functional venue with 18,000 seats and was constructed for the 2010 Shanghai Expo. The Arena has been developed and operated for commercial use and given the naming rights to Mercedes-Benz since 2011.
