VivaTech takes the stage as the world's leading event for tech and startups

August 8: The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and Shanghai University of Sport, have jointly set up a basketball college, known as the Chinese Basketball Association Basketball College, to focus on providing basketball coaching mixed with academic disciplines. The announcement came at a ceremony, where CBA Chairman Yao Ming and Chen Peijie, Dean of Shanghai University of Sport, signed an agreement leading to the creation of this new exciting partnership.
The vision of this new college is to make it one of the top sports colleges in China and abroad, by leveraging the CBA's and Shanghai University's resources. In order to develop professional basketball talents, this college will offer programs covering different levels ranging from academic education and higher education, in which technical sports training and coaching, sports management and cultural education are integrated. Furthermore, media reports have said that a research center for basketball and a basketball forum will also be features of this new CBA Basketball College.
In the future, this new college will assist in promoting the sport of basketball in China, as well as supporting basketball-related research by gathering researchers and scholars from all over the world.
