According to CCTV, the ratings of the game against Saudi Arabia was as high as 2.32%, and the ratings of the game against Uzbekistan was 2.03%. In another word, there were 150,000,000 people that watched the two games.
In 2011, when Li Na won the French Open, there were as much as 95,770,000 people watching the broadcast across China, and the national ratings was 2.75%. Given this data, there should be over 80,000,000 audiences for the game against Saudi Arabia, and over 70,000,000 for the game against Uzbekistan.
For the opening game of the 2014 World Cup, the ratings on CCTV was 1.32%, with almost 46,000,000 audiences. The ratings of some very popular shows last year merely got ratings of 1.31% and below. Chinese football team had an absolute win!
