On 12th October, the CEO of the Australian National Basketball League, Jeremy Loeliger, visited the headquarters of Sina in Beijing and signed a comprehensive strategic corporation agreement on behalf of the NBL. As the most professional sports media platform, Sina will help the NBL enter the Chinese market and take part in the Sina 3X3 Golden Basketball League.
During the 2017 season, top players from the Golden League will take part in an NBL training camp and be given a trial with all NBL teams, while the NBL will also select teams to participate in Golden League games in Chinese regions during the 2017 season.
Loeliger announced that NBL will enter China during the 2016/17 basketball season and that Sina Sports will broadcast all games. The top three teams from the Golden League will enter Australia and selected players will be offered a trial with all the NBL teams. They will take part in the International Premier League as Chinese for the first time.
The Senior Vice President and Sports General Manager of Sina, Wei Jianglei , hopes that the Chinese audience can enjoy wonderful Australia Basketball and that promising young players from 3X3 will be given a chance.
