China's online sports broadcasting company LeSports announced a new partnership with the vitamin brand Amway Nutrilite on Thursday. The pair are set to establish an Olympic channel for Chinese sports fans.
As reported by Global Times, “though state broadcaster CCTV has acquired the rights to broadcast the Rio Olympics across all broadcast platforms, LeSports has become the official online partner of several Chinese Olympic teams, including track and field, badminton and cycling.”
Chinese Olympic Teams have been sponsored by Amway China since the 2000 Olympics. Under this new sponsorship, Nutrilite becomes the exclusive food supplement supplier for the Chinese Olympic team. According to the sponsorship agreement between the Chinese Olympic Committee and Amway China, Nutrilite will continue to support the Chinese Olympic teams until 2020.
The Bespoke Olympic channel is expected to go online on July 28, just a week before the start of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. In addition, the International Olympic Committee is planning to launch its year-round Olympic TV broadcast channel this year.
