According to a report by Ifeng, the retired pro basketball player Kobe Bryant has become a branding ambassador of Ele.me, a Chinese food delivery application.
“You hungry?” Bryant says with a smile in a disclosed advertising campaign. It is also reported that Chinese movie star Wong Cho Lam will join the former player to represent the food delivery company.
A news conference will be held on July 12th to make an official announcement and Bryant’s advertising promotion will be broadcast on TV the day after.
Kobe Bryant certainly seems to be enjoying his retirement. The former Los Angeles Lakers star has filmed a Ghostbusters promo, appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and has recently dined with martial arts star Jackie Chan on his China Tour.
Ele.me, which was launched in Shanghai in 2009, is a major player in China's booming online food delivery market. E-commerce giant Alibaba Group have invested $1.25 billion in the company, becoming the biggest shareholder of the food delivery application.
