GOME sponsors Chinese national modern pentathlon team

The Chinese electrical appliance retailer GOME Holdings Group and the Chinese national Modern Pentathlon team have signed a strategic co-operation agreement. The signing ceremony was held in Beijing on 3rd June. GOME became the strategic partner and official sponsor of the China National Modern Pentathlon Association and the national Modern Pentathlon team. 

Modern Pentathlon originated in France. The “father of the modern Olympics”, Frenchman Mr. Pierre de Coubertinand initiated the project. The performance of the Chinese National Pentathlon team has improved steadily over recent years, and they are expected to win some medals in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. 

GOME has been an active sponsor of sports for some time. It was previously a partner of the Freestyle Skiing “Freestyle Ski World Cup” in 2013. The company sees this deal as a rehearsal of its further plans for the 2022 Olympics.
