Sike Soccer, a soccer-related new media platform, has raised RMB50 million from investors in the Pre-A Round.
The money raised will be used to expand the company’s content portfolios, including original content, international & domestic soccer news and live streaming. As a soccer-focused new media platform, Sike also serves as an aggregation of social media posts from the world’s top soccer stars.
As announced, Sike has signed with over 200 presenters for their live streaming, most notably renowned Chinese soccer players like Sun Jihai, Gao Lin and Li Yi.
“Live sports would be a major income source for sport-related start-ups, and Sike will provide in-depth crossover sports content,” said Sike Soccer founder Yan Qiang, formerly deputy editor-in-chief at leading Chinese media portal Netease.
Sike Soccer, founded by Yan Qiang last July, is headquartered in Beijing. The company already received RMB20 million from investors in November 2015.
