Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg FC has unveiled a Chinese youth training project in Changchun, Jilin Province, as part of their partnership with Shangdong Linglong Tire.
The project will see the German club open a training camp in Shangdong in September, to cater for Chinese children aged 6 to 12. Among other innovations, Linglong Tire is set to select three Chinese children to become the coach’s escorts, for each of the club’s home games from the start of the next Bundesliga season in August. At the same time, those Chinese children will also have the chance to visit the Volkswagen Arena and AutoMuseum Volkswagen in the city of Wolfsburg.
Shandong Linglong Tire has been a sponsorship partner to VfL Wolfsburg since January 1st, 2015. As Qi Zhifa, the brand’s Deputy General Manager said, “We have specific business plans in the European market, so we’re building our R&D center there. For us, the partnership with VfL Wolfsburg FC will definitely improve our brand exposure in Europe.”
The club’s General Manager Thomas Röttgermann told media that China is a very important market for them, so the co-operation with Linglong Tire will be really helpful to their expansion in China.
