Sina Sports, a leading Chinese digital sports media, has just announced a strategic partnership with IMG Academy, the Florida-based private athletic training institute.
Under this partnership, Sina Sports will open a special section for IMG to provide professional training and coaching videos for Chinese viewers. This is an important step for Sina to improve its engagement with sports fans.
IMG Academy focuses on youth, high school, collegiate and professional athletes and is located in Bradenton, Florida. It offers programs for tennis, golf, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, American football, track & field, cross country and athletic and personal development.
Authur Jianglei Wei, General Manager of Sina Sports, believes that the partnership with IMG is a positive response to the sports training trend in China.
“With the boom in the Chinese sports market, more and more people expect to receive better coaching. Most of us would like to live a healthy life, though we may not become pro players. IMG Academy is the best partner for us to co-operate with, to deepen our users’ involvement in sports and help them improve their lifestyle.” Wei said.
