China’s e-commerce platform Suning Group, the holding company of Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, will reportedly spend RMB50mn to RMB100mn on the opening ceremony for the upcoming 2015/2016 CSL season, according to a report by Titan Sports.
The report says Suning is set to organise an expensive CSL opening ceremony at Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre where Jiangsu Suning will host Shandong Luneng FC on Saturday. Suning’s Branding Department has been involved in the design and operation of the opening ceremony in order to achieve better screen effects. In addition to preparatory work, Suning will also invite more celebrities to the ceremony.
To gain nationwide exposure, Suning will reportedly spend RMB50-100 million on the opening ceremony, making it the most extravagant in the history of the CSL.
Onething that Suning needs to keep in mind is that the CSL is currently in an exclusive partnership arrangement with the other e-commerce platform JD.com.
