When New tournaments Meets New Tech, the Old Friend of Football Has New Stories

Italian Serie A side AS Roma announced that it has officially launched a new WeChat account for the club’s fans in China in its ongoing efforts to enhance Roma’s presence in the country.
The new Chinese-language social media account follows the launch in February 2015 of an official presence on the Sina Weibo platform.
Fans who follow Roma on WeChat in China can play a weekly prediction game, follow live scores, listen to Roma radio, check match schedules and results, read official news in the local language and also upload their own photos.
“Roma has a very passionate fan base in China and it’s growing every month,” claims Li Lilian, the club’s social media manager in China. “We hope the new WeChat account will allow Roma fans to feel closer to the club.”
Roma became the first Italian football club to launch a WeChat account outside China in April 2015 when it unveiled an account in both the Italian and English languages.
