The Chinese e-commerce business, Suning Group, after recently acquiring Jiangsu Guoxin-Sainty FC, is going to establish a football-centric internet plus sports ecosystem.
As reported in news stories, the e-commerce company has become involved in a teenage football project. The project will see the Chinese giant build a couple of football pitches, promote teenage events in Jiangsu Province and provide free-to-air training videos on Suning-backed PPTV platforms.
Entrepreneurship will be another focus for Suning in 2016. The Nanjing-based company has decided to set up startup boot camps, with a total investment of RMB 0.3 billion. It is expected that an area of 10,000 square meters in Nanjing will be developed into a “makerspace” providing free services like cloud-computing, big data and human resources. In the future, the Suning makerspace model will be expanded all over the country.
In addition, Suning is actively promoting the e-sport business. Notably, the e-commerce giant will launch its e-sport event Suning Electronic Sports next year. In terms of the e-sport ecosystem, Suning is devoted to an omni-directional platform, where users have access to events broadcast via mobile devices, computers and television.
