Le Sports and Shanghai University of Sport (SUS) recently announced that they are set to jointly found a new-media-related practice base.
The announcement was made at the 30th anniversary of the setup of SUS’s Sports Journalism Department, the first department of sports journalism in China. Former students Zhang Sheng and Ding Ning, a tennis commentator and a current table tennis star respectively, were present along with renowned sports commentators Song Shixiong and Sun Zhengping.
Under the agreements, the soon-to-be-founded practice base will be open to students of SUS. Additionally, Le Sports will also offer scholarships to students from the School of Journalism and the School of Foreign Languages from this semester.
The partnership is seen by many as an effort by China’s rising Le Sports to build their talent pool reserve.
Speaking at the ceremony, Liu Jianhong, CEO of Le Sports, said “SUS was the first college that I visited since I started working at Le Sports.
“It feels like home (as) many of my colleagues and comrades are from SUS”, Liu added.
