Chinese telecoms giant Huawei has struck a short-team partnership deal with the newly promoted Lusaka Dynamos Football Club as the club’s kit sponsor.
The $29.000 deal between Huawei and Dynamos will run for 12 months, which was unveiled at a ceremony held at Chrisma Hotel in Lusaka.
Hansen He, the government and public affairs director of Huawei, said they were hoping the relationship with Dynamos, who returned to the Faz Super League this season after five years’ absence, being a fruitful one.
“We have decided to sponsor Lusaka Dynamos because it’s a team that is growing and needs sponsorship. We have given them US$29,000 for kit this season,” he said.
“This sponsorship symbolises a big step in Lusaka Dynamos going forward,” Dynamos club secretary Madaliso Kamanga said.
“The promotion of the team has given us a headache to find sponsors and we are grateful to Huawei.”
Dynamos joins Huawei’s sports sponsorship portfolio that includes Ajax Cape Town in South Africa, English premiership side Arsenal, French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain and Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.
