SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm
23 May 2024 14:34
After recently celebrating the second birthday of its factory in Atlantis, Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense has now further enhanced its commitment to the Western Cape. The company is coming on board as technical sponsor for two independently produced sports shows on Cape Town TV: Cape Rugby TV and Sports Federation TV.
Cape Rugby TV is an award-winning show about club rugby in the Western Cape, while Sports Federation TV produces local sports content for the Federations of the Western Province Sports Council. The shows feature weekly on Cape Town TV, a channel which is broadcast free-to-air in Cape Town and nationally on DStv Channel 263.
Both shows will receive the latest Hisense Ultra High Definition (UHD) televisions, set to enhance background graphics and videos used in the production of the shows. Hisense's UHD televisions boast four times the resolution of standard HD televisions, ensuring brilliant picture quality and outstanding image clarity.
Elaborating on the sponsorship, Ryan Curling, Brand Manager at Hisense South Africa, notes: "The Cape Rugby TV technical sponsorship not only aligns us with one of the top three most popular sports in South Africa, but is also a great channel. The strong focus of Cape Rugby TV on the amateur level of the game, especially in the Western Cape, further enhances Hisense's commitment to the province, with not only our local factory located in Atlantis, but also an investment in property for our new head office in Century City, Cape Town."
