Dutch Eredivisie football club Ajax has signed a three-year partnership deal with bicycle and scooter tire manufacturer Cheng Shin Tire (CST). The agreement goes into effect from July 1, 2015, and is valid until June 30, 2018.
Under the deal, the Chinese brand will serve as an official partner of the club.
CST has been connected to the club as an official sponsor since 2013 and the new three-year deal sees the Chinese producer of scooter and bicycle tires step up its partnership with the Eredivisie side. No financial terms were revealed.
“It's fantastic that we've been able to welcome them as an official partner in the meantime. This means that we will be working with them even more closely. Moreover, it means that the sponsorship amount for Ajax is now tripled compared to the previous agreement,” said Edwin van der Sar, Ajax’s marketing director.
Bob Duis and Jack Duis, directors of Cheng Shin Holland, added: “CST is very satisfied with the partnership with Ajax. Both our exposure in the Netherlands, as well globally has been very valuable for CST and we're therefore very happy that we will be working together more extensively with Ajax for the next three seasons.
“The accent will be on the international exposure that Ajax can provide for our brand. Ajax is a world-renowned football club with great appeal in our home market, China, as well as in the rest of the world.”
