Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F signed a strategic partnership agreement with a local amateur soccer association on Thursday, aiming to better promote soccer development in schools and communities.
Under the agreement, the Guangzhou side will work with the Guangdong Amateur Football Association (AFA) to launch a series of competitions in local schools and communities, as well as provide training for young players.
"The cooperation is based on a mutual goal to develop soccer talents and encourage more young people to take part in soccer," said Huang Shenghua, vice chairman of Guangzhou R&F.
Huang, newly promoted to his position, will be in charge of the club's development of soccer culture and youth training.
"We will have more local fans and focus on youth training, aiming to develop a club with a strong local soccer culture," Huang said.
Guangzhou R&F Football Club is a professional football club that currently participates in the Chinese Super League under license from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong and their home stadium is the Yuexiushan Stadium that has a seating capacity of 18,000.
