September 9: The Chinese Super League (CSL) club, Shandong Luneng Taishan, announced its partnership with ride-hailing service Didi Kuaiche, ahead of the club’s home match against Jiangsu Suning.
The announcement was released in front of Didi Jinan City Manager Liu Sheng and Lv Fangde, Deputy General Manager of Sports and Culture Industry at Shandong Luneng Taishan.
Didi Kuaiche is looking to support the club in its upcoming home matches in the CSL and the CFA Cup for 2017. The partnership is also expected to provide peripheral products and riding discounts for Luneng fans during the games.
Shandong Luneng Taishan, founded on April 10, 1956, as the Shandong Provincial team, is based in Jinan, Shandong. Its current majority shareholder is the Luneng Group, a subsidiary of Shandong Electric Power Group Corporation.
In the year 2015, Forbes listed the club as the 5th most valuable football team in China, with a team value of US$126 million, and an estimated revenue of US$24 million.
