The Canadian branch of Taiwanese computer maker Acer Inc. announced Tuesday that it has renewed its status as an Official Partner of the Toronto Blue Jays and will have an expanded role with the Jays Care Foundation for the 2015 baseball season.

As the team's exclusive partner for laptops and tablets, Acer will again be promoted through marketing programs and stadium promotions designed to “ensure Toronto Blue Jays fans enjoy their favorite team while learning more about Acer,” the company said in a statement. To celebrate the renewal of this marketing partnership, Acer Corporate President and CEO Jason Chen will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Blue Jays' home game against the Baltimore Orioles on April 21.

“This partnership is the perfect fit between Canada's leading provider of notebooks and Canada's only Major League Baseball team, as well as one of the country's most beloved sports franchises,” said Terry Tomecek, general manager of Acer Canada.

“For the 2015 season, we will retain all of the successful elements of last year's partnership and add some exciting new elements and increased involvement in Jays Care Foundation. This alliance is an outstanding way to connect with and engage with baseball fans,”Tomecek said.

In 2015, Acer will become the lead Technology Partner for the Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction in support of the Jays Care Foundation.

Acer will also continue to support foundation partnerships through the Home Run Scholars program, which helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training, according to the company.
