Honor, the high-end smart phone brand under the Chinese multinational networking, telecommunications equipment and services company Huawei Group, has partnered with the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, becoming one of the Official Sponsors of the 2018 edition of the football tournament.
This is the first time for Honor to partner with this football competition organized by the ASEAN Football Federation in Southeast Asia. Through this partnership, Honor hopes to increase its influence in the Southeast Asian region and connect with the fans by paying attention to the Southeast Asian market which has strong potential for smart phone purchases.
Honor will receive exposure via perimeter advertising boards, in-stadia TV commercials, social media and official tournament materials. They will also organize various activation campaigns. For example, they will present the “Honor Man of the Match Award” to recognize outstanding players during each game. This campaign is designed to align with Honor’s motto, “For the Brave”. They will also organize the “1 Goal, 1 Honor” campaign, which gives out free new Honor 8X to lucky fans in the region for each goal that Malaysia scores in its home games on 12th and 24th of November.
Honor will activate this partnership during the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, and will also continue to market the partnership until June 2019, approximately six months after the tournament ends on December 15, 2018, according to an executive from Lagardere Sports who helped Honor to partner with the football event.
