Yesterday, May 28th, a number of domestic media reported that Sun Yang would continue to be the Huawei spokesperson for their new Honor Play smartphone. Honor’s official Weibo also posted a promotional poster featuring Sun Yang, announcing that the latest Honor Play will be launched at the Beijing University Students Gymnasium on June 6.
On May 24, in a live broadcast to celebrate the total domestic sales of Honor 10 reaching 1 million, Zhao Ming, the President of Huawei Honor, revealed that there would be a new mobile phone model, the Honor Play, and announced that it would be launched on June 6. It is said that a major feature of this new mobile is that it has adopted “very startling technology.”
During the interview, Zhao Ming stated that this was a giant breakthrough, “some aspects of the experience it will bring is unprecedented in the industry. When compared with the current traditional phones, they are like automobiles and we are like airplanes.”
The slogan on the official poster also emphasized the feature of “fast”—“Breakthrough, make the fast faster.”
Sun Yang is a famous Chinese World and Olympic swimmer, and has won numerous Olympic and World titles in freestyle and is a current world record holder in the 1500m freestyle. His “fast” perfectly matches the “fast” of Huawei’s new product.
Sun Yang has been the spokesperson for Honor V10 since November 2011, and has been the Speed Ambassador for Honor V9, both emphasizing his amazing speed.
