LaLiga maintains its commitment with Chinese school football and will organize 16 summer campuses to help football in the grassroots grow.
10th July 2018.- LaLiga will organize 16 football summer camps for both primary and high schools in 15 Chinese cities in July as part of the collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, which began in 2015.
The responsibilities of LaLiga coaches won't be only to facilitate the Chinese School Football Office to carry out tests and scouting young talents among those participating in the Summer Campuses, but to also provide training sessions and public demonstration training for the local coaches. Prior to the coaches’ departure, LaLiga's Sport Projects Department delivered all the relevant information regarding the tests, scouting, training and other Summer Campus activities to the coaches in an event held at LaLiga's Madrid headquarters on July 3rd.
A total of 15 cities; Haimen, Chengdu, Jingzhou, Yichang, Baotou, Meizhou, Xian, Lanzhou, Linyi, Harbin, Qingdao, Dalian, Xining, Nanan and Suqian will welcome 27 coaches from LaLiga. This project is the closest one LaLiga ever had with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China since both sides started their collaboration three years ago.
Sergi Torrents, country manager for LaLiga in China, said: “These campuses follow LaLiga’s commitment with Chinese football. We want to promote not only the sport, but also its values, so this cooperation with China’s Ministry of Education allows us to introduce LaLiga’s values and methodology to young players and coaches and, at the same time, to contribute to the development of this sport in China”.
In addition to it, LaLiga provides coach training sessions held by MOE every year. High level Spanish lecturers are sent by LaLiga to execute and share experiences with Chinese school football coaches and, so far, more than 150,000 young players and over 8,000 coaches have benefited from the projects carried out by LaLiga in China.
“This cooperation will help us to keep improving our football grassroots and also to spread the values of the sport among the young players, so we are convinced it will be beneficial to both sides”, Wang Dengfeng, head of the ministry's department of physical, health and arts education, said.
LaLiga attaches great importance to its collaboration with MOE, and strive to reinforce the collaboration between the two parties to promote together the development of school football in China.
