Yesterday, May 28th, Arsenal Football Club announced on its official Chinese website that a Shanghai Arsenal Club Bar & Restaurant is scheduled to open in the Lyceum Building at the Bund in June. Chinese Gunners will be able to enjoy delicious foods and fine wines in an environment surrounded by Arsenal FC features and they can watch live games and special programmes on cinema-like big screens in the bar.
In the bar there will be real-size Arsenal players’ holograms and various Arsenal souvenirs including signed items. The menu will include classic British and European-style food, for example, the football fans’ favorite, fish & chips and burgers.
The restaurant and bar project is to be run by a Chinese-foreign joint venture, Saihong Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd (赛宏体育文化发展有限公司). They obtained authorization from the club to use the concept “Shanghai Arsenal Club” in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). According to the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, Saihong was founded in Nov 2017. They started this project in Shanghai and Beijing at the beginning of 2018.
They plan to set up a second Arsenal Bar & Restaurant in Beijing this summer.
The Shanghai Arsenal Club Bar & Restaurant will be located in the famous heritage architecture Lyceum Building, at No.185 Yuanmingyuan Road Huangpu District. The exact opening date is set to be announced soon.
