An overseas football media published a ranking of the top 20 football leagues regarding average match attendances per game. Chinese Super League ranks sixth in the list, ahead of the Major League Soccer and the Ligue 1, and is the number 1 league in Asia.
The top 5 leagues before CSL are the Bundesliga, the Premier League, La Liga, Liga MX (Mexico), Serie A (Italy) respectively from No. 1 to No. 5. Bundesliga has an average of 43,177 attendances for each match, the Premier League 36,487, and the Chinese Super League has 22,580.
The other two Asian leagues are Japan’s J-League and Australia’s A-League which ranked at 14th and 15th respectively.
Chinese media say that CSL did not always have very high attendance. This number is also a new record for CSL. As the league and the sport become more in the focus, it is not difficult to understand the change.
